Statement from Omni Academy

At Omni Academy of Beauty & Aesthetics our priority continues to be the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our students and our staff. Therefore we are continuing to closely monitor and follow the advice for schools, colleges and salon environments from Public Health England, our exam board VTCT and Ofqual.

We have been working hard to carefully plan and implement contingencies to all courses and training. Where possible, this is has been moved to remote learning via online tutorials.

Remote learning options is something we have been developing behind the scenes for sometime now and we’re pleased to announce we have now rolled this it out across many of our courses. Please see our Home Study Courses and Blended Home Study Courses pages.

For those who are looking to enrol on courses with Omni in the current months, please be reassured that training is still continuing with the Blended Home Study learning opportunities now available.

If you’re currently on a programme with Omni, we have put together some further updates for you.

Past Students

If you have completed your training with us recently and are awaiting your qualification, please rest assured the exam board VTCT are still issuing certificates. Whilst there has been a slight delay in certificates being posted, these are now starting to clear and we are receiving them at Omni.

If you you’ve missed an email from us regarding collection of your certificate/portfolio please contact the office so that we can help you further.

Present Students

Completing Training

If you were part way through your training when lockdown began, you will have heard from us directly already. If you haven’t please contact the office immediately for an update.

For any practical training, dates will need to be re-scheduled. With the current situation and the time frames for returning to workplaces/schools still very uncertain and being led by the Government, the exam board VTCT and Ofqual, we are unable to give a fixed re-opening date for training at Omni, until we are told it is safe to do so. We will continue to review our course timetables and we will be in touch in due course to confirm revised dates for your course.

Completing Practical Assessments

If you have practical assessments still to achieve these will have to be booked in on the General Assessment Days. With the current situation and the time frames for returning to workplaces/schools still very uncertain and being led by the Government, the exam board VTCT and Ofqual, we are unable to give a fixed re-opening date for assessments at Omni, until we are told it is safe to do so. We will continue to review our assessment timetables and we will be in touch in due course to confirm when practical assessments are available to book.

If you had a practical assessment booked after 24th March 2020 you will have been contacted by Omni already with regards to postponing your assessments.

Completing Online Exams

In case you’ve missed the updates which have been going out across our Social Media platforms over the last week, VTCT have announced that Online Exams have been temporarily suspended whilst the lockdown continues.

If you have completed all your practical assessments and home study assignments and have only the online exams left to achieve – good news – we can use your completed EKU assignments/home study in place of the online exams!

Please ensure your portfolio is submitted to the academy to be marked as soon as possible and we can then check and apply for your qualification!

Please rest assured this adjustment has been put in place following a series of in depth quality assurance measures and is approved not just by VTCT but Ofqual as well. It in no way affects the validity or quality of your qualification.

To reassure you further, at Omni all our assignments are written to cover the full scope of knowledge required for the exam, so we can all be sure this knowledge is fully evidenced throughout your portfolio.

Future Students

If you have an upcoming course due to begin in the next 6 weeks, you will have been contacted by Omni already regarding the re-scheduling of your course start date. If you haven’t heard from us please contact the office immediately for an update.

What we’re doing to plan & prepare a safe return to training

We want to reassure you that hygiene, health and safety will be of the utmost importance when we do return.

We are taking into consideration the number of students attending each lesson and are making arrangements for PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to be readily available for all staff and students whilst they are in the Academy. This will include disposable gloves and facemasks and reusable face shields which can be fully sanitised between uses.
